Yes. Reef Glass is an excellent choice for kitchen backsplashes because it combines the cleanability of glass tile with a soft matte finish and coastal-inspired color palette. The 3" x 6" field tile can be installed in classic subway, stacked, offset, or herringbone patterns, while mosaics can be used to create a decorative focal point.
Reef Glass field tiles and most mosaics are not recommended for floor applications due to the nature of glass tile. The Pebble Mosaic can be used on shower floors. Customers should check the individual product page before selecting Reef Glass for any flooring project.
Reef Glass is made of colored glass with a soft matte finish inspired by the look and feel of frosted beach glass. The collection is designed to bring a coastal, sea glass-inspired look to interior walls, shower walls, backsplashes, and decorative features.
Reef Glass is available in six coastal-inspired colors: Lily - a crisp white, Palm - a sandy beige, Aloe - a soft green, Coconut - a warm grey, Marina - a tropical aqua, and Oceana - a deep ocean blue.
Reef Glass includes five mosaic patterns: Nori, Shoal, Reed, Pebble, and Strand. These mosaics feature organic and geometric shapes inspired by coastal elements such as seaweed, sandbars, beach pebbles, ocean waves, and wetland reeds.
Glass tile itself does not need to be sealed like natural stone. However, grout may need to be sealed depending on the grout type used. Always follow the grout and sealer manufacturer’s recommendations, especially for showers, backsplashes, and other wet or high-use areas.
For cementitious grout, narrow joints under 1/8" should generally use unsanded grout, while joints over 1/8" should generally use sanded grout. Because glass can scratch, always confirm grout suitability with the grout manufacturer before installation.
Reef Glass should be cut with a professional-grade wet saw fitted with a high-quality diamond blade designed for glass tile. Tiles should be cut face up and cut edges should be sanded or eased to soften any sharp edges.
